While there is nothing wrong with styling your natural curls, the constant brushing, combing, and styling can take a toll on your kinks. Over time, you can start to notice your hair breaking off at the ends, your edges or hairline thinning, and the overall quality of your hair diminishing. Staying on top the health of your hair with regular maintenance is a great starting point to avoid breakage. However, it doesn’t stop there. Protective styling is an effective way to keep your hair strong while maintaining length retention and promoting thicker strands. By cutting down the daily manipulation and styling of your natural curls, you will support…

Top 5 Baby Items to Keep for Your Toddler Don’t throw them away!! You’ll thank me later. I promise.  This list will be a life saver after your kid is walking, talking, and feeding him or herself!  Here are the top 5 things that I’m glad I kept now that my kid is a toddler! 1. Burp cloths – This is a no drool zone. Spit, slob, drool. I hate it!  And for as long as I’ve had Flash I should be used to it, but I’m not.  Burp cloths save my dresses and my husband’s pants in church when my kid falls asleep…shoot, when ANY kid falls asleep near me! (8yr olds drool too and it’s a lot more! Eeww…)  It also makes great protection for couches if my kid falls asleep anywhere other than at home.  Drool stains are real and look gross when dried. Save yourself the trouble. Keep at least…

The circulation of blood within the scalp helps your hair to grow healthy and strong, but having to deal with hair issues after you work out is an issue all naturals face. If you’ve noticed you have a considerable amount of dryness and frizz after a workout, you’re not alone. Your hair will probably survive yoga just fine, but bring…

I think I’ve seen Moana like 30 times…this month!!  I listen to the sound track EVERY TIME I get in the car.  We also own the blue-ray/DVD combo with the free digital copy.  And it’s on Netflix.  There is no escaping this strong, crafty, beautiful 16 year old fictional girl.  Our son won’t let us!  This two year old is thoroughly obsessed with Moana, Maui, Hei Hei and Pua.  He sings all of the songs emphatically, even though he barely speaks full sentences!  He laughs when it’s funny and he gets sad when they do. It’s quite adorable to see.  With that being said, I have done the unthinkable…. I bought my son a doll…  Today, on what seems like our daily trip to Walmart, we went to the store to pick up a few things for dinner and I wanted to get Flash a puzzle focused on shapes.  I…

Happy New Year Love!!! Yea, I know I’m late, but I promise it will be worth it! The beginning of the year is generally the time where most people make resolution, promises, vows to change, and set new intentions for the year.  It is a time to start fresh, and clean house….mentally and physically.  Most of the time, I see physical-based resolutions being made and it seems that taking care of your mental health is left my the wayside. My personal goal for the year was to take better care of myself.  I started this with a journal and a planner. So, I loved to journal growing up! No…SERIOUSLY!!  I have journals for days, filled and empty. Writing was my happy place.   I wrote everything down, the good and the bad.  Writing kept my thoughts and heart at peace when everything around me felt like chaos.  I owe some of…

A couple weeks ago, I had to learn this lesson the hard way, and I only started with knowing my worth… I was approached by a company that I love, to be a hair model for them.  I was absolutely excited.  I don’t often get to ask to do these things.  Now I’m pretty awesome and cute, but I have some blogger friends who are even more awesome.  So the fact that I’m even being considered sent me over the moon!  Anyway, when I initially inquired about the details of the shoot (Read: Model Contract), I kind of grazed over the “are we being paid” part?  The answer however was, “I don’t think so but I’ll email you all the details.” Let’s fast forward to a week later… We are a few days out from the fitting, and people have gone shopping for clothes for all the models.  I ask again…
